The goals of the Numerical Solution of Markov Chain meeting are:

• To foster co-operation among diverse researchers, to minimize unnecessary duplication and to identify new long-term research objectives.
• To bring up-to-date and to inform researchers who work in one branch of this area, the work being undertaken in different areas.
• To provide the opportunity to researchers who work in this area to present their latest research results. The collection of presentations is intended to be an authoritative overview of the field, including its developments, current status and projections for future directions.
• To produce a comprehensive set of proceedings, which is expected to become a significant reference work.
