Lo and behold! After a long PhD. trip, Ángel Luis Garrido defended his PhD. Thesis last Friday (10/07/2026). His thesis, titled “Enriching and Improving the Performance of Digital Libraries”, tackles a very relevant problem that arises when dealing with information systems within enterprises, where privacy and data isolation must be combined with open and public data without any unwanted exposure. Problems such as desambiguation, entity resolution, entity recommendation, … become more difficult due to data scarcity.
Congratulations to Ángel! He has done an amazing work (and a huge effort, as he has taken his PhD. while working full-time in another position), really amazing!
