EquipmentSeveral computing clusters, hosted in the I3A facilities, are available to the gaZ researchers. High-end multicore processors and modern GPGPUs are interconnected through Infiniband, Myrinet and GbE networks. A fiber channel fabrics interfaces to a high-capacity storage facility.
A hardware lab is also available. It is equipped with standard instrumentation, FPGA development kits and facilities to measure power and temperature (precision digital current probe, precision wattmeter, multi-channel temperature data loggers).
The available software includes popular simulation and compilation toolkits such as SIMICS-GEMS, SimpleScalar and LLVM. Simulation tools have been heavily extended to carefully model the memory hierarchy and the on-chip interconnection network.
